All-A-Bout Home Improvement, LLC is central New Jersey's complete home improvement contractor.  We are fully insured, licensed and EPA Certified in Renovations, Repairs and Painting (RRP).

Beginning April 2010,  any contractor who disturbs just six square feet of lead paint while working in a pre-1978 home, school or daycare center, now, must be Lead-Safe Certified according to the Renovation Repair & Painting Rule.  Therefore, Contractors have until October 1st to register for a class and become certified.  EPA will be enforcing penalties to those who don't.  So protect yourself and make sure your contractor is certified.

Information for Homeowners Working at Home: If you are a homeowner performing renovation, repair, or painting work in your own home, EPA's RRP rule does not cover your project. You have the ultimate responsibility for the safety of your family or children in your care. If you are living in a pre-1978 home and planning to do painting or repairs, please read a copy of EPA's Renovate Right: Important Lead Hazard Information for Families, Child Care Providers, and Schools (PDF) lead hazard information pamphlet.
Why Do You Need to Be Concerned About Lead? Lead is a toxic metal that was used for many years in products found in and around our homes. Lead also can be emitted into the air from motor vehicles and industrial sources, and lead can enter drinking water from plumbing materials. Lead may cause a range of health effects, from behavioral problems and learning disabilities, to seizures and death. Children six years old and under are most at risk.

Important Facts
If inhaled or swallowed the dust can cause irreversible damage to children and adults
The smallest amount of dust from renovations, repairs or painting can contaminate an entire home
Any renovation or repair in any pre-1978 house or child-occupied facility must now be an EPA Certified Renovator

Common Sources of Lead Poisoning:
  Lead contaminated dust
  Lead contaminated residential soil
  Deteriorating lead-based paint
